Alright, time for me to do abit of blogging.

Back from 4th Advance Drills Course last Thursday. I can say that it was the best course I every attended throughout my whole NCC route of 6 years. I really felt the bond and together-ness of my platoon during the course. Maybe we are all Cadet Officers, thats why we are more open to each other lah but still I think it was damn
good.

The first day, didn’t start off the day nice lah. Got scolded even before the registration. It was damn stupid, I don’t want to mention anything here. After that, we fall-in in platoon level. We were all quite serious at the start lah, because I think we didn’t know each other well yet. All the way till lunch, we were still quite distant from each other. I also cannot really remember when we started to open up.

Had lectures for the first day and not much of practical I would say. Learn how to do formation of squad. I knew abit of it lah, cause was thaught to me by my seniors when I was still a Part C cadet. Did just a short while of practice, then dinner and lights out liao. But before that, we had a short debrief with out platoon instructors then move on to planning for our graduation ceremony. This task was always given to Cadet Officers Trainee of every ADC to do.

Second day, started off with a big task thrown to me. I was choosen to be the Course IC in the morning, and I wasn’t inform about it like earlier. I was only told when the Course 2IC was looking for me. Damn LOL lah. I didn’t even prepare anything, no pen nor paper. I had to go up to the West people to ask them to lend me. But I think I did a reasonable job lah. Though I didn’t do well at the start, I still manage to pull through for the rest of the morning till lunch.

For the second day, I think the lesson that most intrest me was the marking of parade ground. SM taught us how to use the pace stick and did markings on the parade ground. Really learn a lot from his lesson. I didn’t know there was so many things to be done when planning a parade. Basically, the whole day after that was learning footdrills.

Third day, started off the day again with PT. I think the run wasn’t as bad as I thought before I joined the course. Running with all my platoon mates were quite fun. And I didn’t really feel tired after the run. The whole day after that was full advance drills. We learn sword drills, rifle drills and colours drills. The sword drills was really a new thing to me lah and it was interesting too. Now at least I know the proper way of doing drills with the sword. After lunch, we had our theory test. The test wasn’t really difficult or easy lah. Cause the answers were all the key points that SM mention during his lectures. So if we paid attention, we would be able to score full for the whole paper. But unfortunately for me, I only remembered the 2nd half of his lectures and cannot really bring to my mind what was taught during the first and second day. In the end, I left quite a few blanks here and there lah. No choice mah, you don’t know means don’t know de.

Evening was dinner, debrief and planning again. But before all these, we had our pull-up test. I think I did my best liao lah. Manage to pull 4. Alot of us couldn’t complete, but we still cheered each other on. I think that was the time when you see the bonds of the whole platoon. Then during the planning, there were some arguments among us lah, but it was settled shortly after that.

Finally, the last day of the course. We were all very excited about it. Haha. Started to rain heavily in the morning, so PT was cancelled. YEAH!! Haha. We were all waiting for this rain to come and it only came on the last day. LOL. Had our Course AAR with SM then proceeded for course photo taking. The photo taking wasn’t very well done but I think it wans’t anybody’s fault, cause our course size was like 250? So it was difficult to get everyone in the picture lah. Had lunch after that, then was preparation for graduation liao. We were all like working hard for it lah. We did our part, doing the arrangement of chairs, taking care of cadets, training award winners, etc...

The time had finally came for the graduation ceremony. I should say that we all put in our best efforts for it liao. I can see the organizing people putting in a lot of hardwork too. The whole thing went on quite smoothly without much problems. The cadets had their donning of lanyards and then it marks the end of the whole course.
We all proceeded to the canteen for some light refreshments while some of us stayed back to clear up the MPH. After that, went to clear the bed sheets, pillow cases and blanket before having AAR with our instructors. We were awarded out badge at that time in section level. I think that was quite an emotional time for some of us, cause there were people who are close friends to us that failed due to certain reasons. But still we supported each other and walk out of the room together.
The time had finally came, the last dismissal. We asked the RSM to dismiss us, cause we had a special suprise for him. When the command Basu-RAI was given, we all shouted 1-check-1 CUT YOUR HAIR RSM!! Haha. After that, we taopok him on the ground. LOL. Damn funny.

Ok, that was for ADC. I now got to prepare for my trip next. Going to Bali tomorrow le, I don’t know what to bring sia. Haha. Blog again soon, byebye.

I think the last thing that I blog about was CAMP FEAST? That happened like quite long ago le. Haha. Let me see if I can recall what happened after that. LOL.

On Thursday last week, I had my first IMT (as in as a Cadet Officer lah). LOL. It was quite easy to handle things lah. Cause this time was only a small number of cadets and is only single chamber* so the manpower needed to run the whole thing was quite small. I did detailing, which was sort of an easy job. When the cadets come in, I just need to ask them to sit in rows of 10 and fill up the score sheet. If my memory never fail me, we had about 89 cadets that came and out of them, there were 71 MARKSMAN!! Haha. I wasn't shock lah, cause they were using the SAR21. With a 1.5x scope at 100m, how could you miss the target. Haha. I think out of the events I helped out in HQ, this is considered one of the easiest.

After IMT that day, I went back to Montfort cause they are having investiture. Although I was late, I managed to talked to some people lah. I only arrived when most of the schools are already about to leave. LOL. The seniors had a talk with the EXCOs after the whole event had ended. There were many feedbacks give, nice ones and not nice ones. But I think it is best to keep it within ourselves. Problems can be solve if people are willing to listen to each other and compromise. But with the current situation now, I doubt any party will be able to give way.

Saturday, I had training in the morning. Very usual stuff that goes on lah. But that day, Wilson and Dominic came back. I was quite surprise lah. Like they both MIA for damn long time liao.

After training, Jason and I went for a Brain Storming session for the youth group that is currently running at Morning Star. Uncle Raymond had asked us to attend, so we just go lor. I think it was quite fruitful? There were a lot of things brought up lah. Maybe all these are posibilities.

We ended at 5pm and headed over to church for carwash. First time I helping out in this sia. It wasn't really tiring but instead, it was fun. Haha. Sorry Anthia for splashing water on you. LOL. I didn't know you were on the other side mah. Haha. it was fun indeed. But washing so many cars in just that 1 hour time, was quite a rushing thing also. When mass ended, we like just finish the last car can. Just in time. :)

Now comes to this week. I didn't do much for this week. Wanted to start running but the rain stopped me. I changed on to my PT kit and wanted to leave the house already, it started to rain so heavily. So no choice, I came back. LOL. The only time I had things on were Thursday, yesterday and today.

Thursday was really a headache for me, as in literally. Had IMT again, this time was M16 and double chamber**. We worked with about 6 poeple this time. I think it was the same number of people as the one last week. But this time, we had about 180 cadets, which was more than twice the previous group. I tell you, I was inside the chamber for 7 details, and my head almost exploded. Had to take care of the cadets nevermind, they don't even know what target they are shooting at. Ask them aim at the target below, they go and aim at the one where we are suppose to see where their shots land. In the end, so many of them failed. I think they never even put in the effort to come for this shoot lah. Ask them aim, they also just anyhow shoot. But there are also some who took this seriously and got themselves marksman.

Yesterday, went down to SP in the morning. I felt that it was quite dumb lah. I went all the way there, just to listen to a briefing which I can learn about eveything at home, for 40 minutes. Go all the way down there, listen to the stuff on PCEMS then leave liao. Damn sian. Came home after that, did nothing. Went own to HQ in the afternoon for briefing on ADC. Just a short one lah, the rules and stuff. All the standard things which you will hear in a pre-course briefing. After that went home liao.

Today went to Harbourfront at 0645hrs. Damn early can. Went to help out in the Milo TRYathlon event at Sentosa. Was raining, so I was doing my duty in the rain. My whole uniform was like soaked to my skin lah. But what can I do, my duty what.
