Finally going to recover from my illness liao, so long le.
Hmm, what should I talk about? Many things seem to have happen over so long lah. First was camp FEAST, then was the Easter Triduum that I attended and sang for, then Montfort’s Affirmation Ceremony and the start of orientation this week. I think I should say a bit about this events one by one. Haha.
Firstly, Camp FEAST, not my first camp though, so it wasn’t much of a problem going through the things that got to be done the whole camp. I think everything was done pretty well. But as usual, the cadets really cannot listen to instructions. I also died talking to them. I even fell sick on the second day of camp. I fell ill with fever like during lunch on the second and last day. I didn’t report sick, cause I went solo due to my APC got to go back to school. I just push on lah, anyway a few more hours left then send them home le. After sending them back and changing out, I this time really gone. My whole body was damn hot lah, really fever start kicking in liao. I rested in Central office for awhile before my father came to fetch me home. For this camp, I think the only thing that I didn’t like was the arrangement of post bah. I cannot say anything more as there may be people who are reading. Maybe we can shuffle more so that more people can get a chance? This is just my suggestion.
Because of me falling sick, I stayed at home and rest for the next few days. Thursday went for Maundy Thursday mass, then Journey to the West with STAC people. Went to 4 churches in the west lah, and it was really an eye-opener. The churches were really cool, especially Church of St Mary of the Angels. The whole church look like a court room and the hanging Jesus on top was damn cool. I think that was the coolest church I have ever seen. Before that we went to Blessed Sacrament church and Holy Cross. We ended off with a walk through of the Stations of the Cross at St Joseph. The compound there was damn huge. I think if I don’t know the place, I will get lost walking inside. Haha.
Friday was Good Friday service, I tried my best to sing as I was still feeling unwell. Every few words I sing, I will start to cough. Damn irritating lah.
Saturday, here comes the big events. Morning went for Montfort’s Affirmation Ceremony. Whole thing was still quite ok, didn’t have much cock up. I think the only thing that cock up was the food. It came too late, so we got to like drag the ceremony during the start. Like when parents came in, just let them watch some SAF video. I was the emcee for the ceremony, I think I didn’t do a very good job lah. Cause partially I was sick, and I didn’t have any experience doing emcee at all. My first time on stage doing it. Haha. Left after awhile as I need to rest and get ready for Easter Vigil later.
I reach practice at night pretty late, cause got a dinner appointment before that. Suppose to reach at 8.30pm, but I only reach like after 9pm. Luckily when I reach, they haven’t started doing psalm yet. Sang I think one or two songs, then it was psalms. During practice, I try not to push so much as I need to sing on the altar without music later. Mass started off with a procession outside church, then move into church. The whole mass was very grand, especially the part when the organ started to play during Gloria. I think everybody was also high, sang damn loud and everything. We didn’t do ‘A Festive Alleluia’ as planned, cause I think communion was too short for so many songs. Ended quite late, about 12.30am like that. So we were like trying to get people home first, those who don’t have transport will take transport from those who have. In the end, Teresa, Laoren and I took Louise’s transport home. Reach her block downstairs already, Teresa’s Dad was already there. So in the end, I walk home with Laoren. She told me that out of the 3 psalms that was sang, mine was the loudest. I was like quite shock and also flattered. LOL. I was sick lah, how could I sound louder than Michael and Melvin. Haha. A bit not possible can. But nevermind, I think I myself sang well can already.
Sunday, I woke up late for mass again. It was because of the late night sleep lah. I was watching television some more. Haha. I was like watching until 2.30am before going to bed can. And morning got to wake up at 6.15am for mass. I woke up like at 6.45am. So I was rushing like mad at home and I left home in like 5 minutes lah. Haha. Met Laoren at the bus stop. I think it is either I’m late or she is early lor. Fancy meeting her in the morning. Haha. Reach church just nice 7am lah, started with warm ups and everything. And it was a normal typical Sunday. Sleep early for that night though, cause of orientation the next day.
Woke up on Monday morning and prepared to go to school. Sort of first day of school lah. Got to go for orientation program. I think the whole Monday program thing was damn lame, sat in the hall and listen to them talk and see performances by CCAs. Met up with my class after that, then went home. Got like 16 guys in my class and no girls at all. Wah, I think i’m predestined to stay in a single sex class for my whole life lor.
Tuesday when for SPICE training in school, then went home already. I tell you, really lame one. I was like talking on msn during the training lah. Haha. After that went to have lunch at KFC and pool at Moberly.
Today just went for flag day at Tiong Bahru. I think the whole thing was damn boring lah. I didn’t even manage to hit the quota of $30. I only manage to raise about $20, then the rest I got from my classmates who got more. For the morning session that I was collecting, I only did like 15 minutes, then went to the park to sit and slack. Then after brunch, wanted to chiong a bit lah but like nobody already. In the end, went back to SP earlier to play pool again. Haha. After that, met back up with my class to count the money that we collected.
I think that’s all for the activities already bah. I wrote too long already, like over 1000 words liao. Haha. I know cause I’m typing it in Microsoft Words. And one more thing, Jason should be coming back this Saturday liao. Let’s see what his experience is like at Tekong. Haha.
